About the NMA

The Northern Massage Association is an organisation for professionals who value and practise massage within a framework of holistic awareness. Energy manifests in mind, body and spirit. Holistic therapeutic massage embodies this understanding.

The Association was established in 1990 by massage practitioners in the North of England. It grew from an awareness that not all massage training and practice has this spiritual dimension. The Association sought from the start to give peer supervision and support, directions for further training, and opportunities for practice.
